This time, the Stardew Valley fan base has been hit with the newest trend, as a humorous fan took to recreating it in Stardew Valley style. With the multiplayer capabilities of Stardew allowing for a wide variety of gameplay experiences, this player perfectly emulated the original meme inside the game.
TikTok continuously goes through periods of time where many similar videos are spawned from a singular video that becomes incredibly well known many different reasons. These spawnings of many similar videos have become known as a “TikTok trend” among users, with the newest in the center of attention being reffered to as “Couch Guy.” With Stardew Valley fans already Rick Rolling communities, it was only a matter of time until the Stardew Valley fandom heard of Couch Guy and decided to bring it to life in the popular indie game.
As the original Couch Guy music: ‘Still Falling for You’ by Ellie Goulding plays in the background, a girlfriend films herself (from a player view, because it is inside Stardew Valley) visiting her long-distance boyfriend at his “farm house.” True to the original TikTok trend, as the girlfriend enters the house her boyfriend is seen with another girl; and the girlfriend continues to run up and kiss him despite another girl being in the room. Viewers can only wonder if the couple will make it to a Stardew Valley engagement after all this.
Much of this recreation is comical for a multitude of reasons. From the accuracy of the recreation to the original video, to the funky Stardew Valley movement, this Couch Guy recreation is wholesome to say the least.
