Seemingly out of nowhere, TikTok has grown over the past few years to become one of the most popular social media platforms in the world today, currently standing at close to 800 million active users.

With such numbers, TikTok has a global reach with a huge responsibility that rests on any social media platform of that stature.

In this day and age, it is not uncommon to see platforms suffering outages and technical issues. I mean, websites like Downdetector have been built on this exact premise, and TikTok isn’t immune.

A few hours ago, it came to light that TikTok was suffering an outage in various regions. While this has since been fixed, there are a couple of issues that seem to have resulted from that outage.

According to a section of TikTok users, their likes and views took a dip following the outage while other note that their likes and views disappeared altogether.

This issue has since been brought to the attention of TikTok and the company, through its official Twitter Support handle, has come out to acknowledge the issue.

In response to one of the affected users, TikTok says they are aware of this issue and that their technical team is actively working to remedy the situation. However, no timelines have been given.

In the meantime, affected users might want to sit tight and wait for an official communication from TikTok on the same.

We shall continue to keep an eye on this and update as and when we get more info so stay tuned to PiunkaWeb.
