The following article contains spoilers for Hawkeye.
Unlike the rest of Disney Plus’ Marvel shows, Hawkeye came with a marked seasonal theme, Clint Barton’s quest to spend the holidays with his family, and it’s precisely that lighthearted nature that makes the perfect show for some fantastic TikTok renditions of every one of its episodes.
Obviously, Hawkeye is more than just the week before Christmas with the show exploring Yelena Belova’s hunt of Clint Barton, the latter’s evolving grief over Natasha Romanoff, Kate Bishop’s own superhero origin story, Maya Lopez getting her Echo spinoff, and even Kingpin’s big comeback. If all that sounds like a lot, it’s because it is but luckily thanks to TikTok’s addictive 60-second format and some good amount of creativity it’s possible to go over everything in just a few minutes.
The mind behind these Hawkeye recaps is Julianne Chryst (@juliannesmovies), a TikToker who’s gone through the hassle of recreating some of the shows best moments in quick and funny videos in great fashion. Of course, Julianne gets some much-needed help from her own dog who just happens to be the perfect two-eyed Lucky stand-in, though the real win lies in her performances and resourcefulness to get the right props. Definitely worth checking out.
All the clips include music that perfectly matches Hawkeye’s best moments, whether it’s the “Save the City” number from the MCU’s Rogers musical, the Trans-Siberian Orchestra’s takes on Tchaikovsky’s “Nutcracker”, or just some Mariah Carey holiday classics. All in all, the level of creativity behind every single of Julianne’s micro-skits is simply amazing and perfect for the holidays, just like Hawkeye.
Naturally, moments like the third episode’s action scene and episode five’s hilarious mac and cheese scene between Kate and Yelena make the cut, as well as Hawkeye’s exciting finale. Judging from Hawkeye’s official gag reel, it seems plausible to think the series’ stars had as much fun as TikTok creators like Julianne do making these Marvel videos or any of the other ones posted on her account.
Marvel Studios still hasn’t made any announcements that may suggest Hawkeye is getting the Loki treatment with a second season, although with Hailee Steinfeld as a rising star and so many questions waiting to be answered it would be far from surprising if Clint Barton returns for one last mission, maybe alongside his secret agent and retired superhero of a wife. Especially if the MCU’s new Daredevil or Kingpin come out to play soon.
