Gearbox Software and 2K Games have confirmed that Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands will launch this month with full crossplay support for all platforms including PlayStation.

In a tweet from the official account of Gearbox Software CEO Randy Pitchford, he confirmed that Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands willsupport full crossplay for all platforms at launch including PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.

Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands is a spin-off from the main Borderlands series and is a successor to the Borderlands 2 DLC Tiny Tina’s Assault on Dragon Keep. Despite the story being tightly under wraps, players can expect to play a similar style narrative as previous Borderlands titles. Tiny Tina will act as a Dungeon Master and narrator for a tabletop RPG called “Bunkers and Badasses” just as she did in Assault on Dragon Keep. Players will control the characters of Wonderlands as they loot and shoot through a fantasy adventure. The addition of crossplay for the PlayStation will be a welcome addition to players on the platform as it was not supported in Borderlands 3.

Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands will see many returning characters from the core series including the titular and ever so slightly insane Tiny Tina, Mr. Torgue, and Butt Stallion. The new entry in the franchise will also boast some impressive new and returning voice talent with Ashly Burch reprising her role as Tiny Tina and new additions in Andy Samburg, Will Arnett, and Wanda Sykes.

Randy Pitchford claims that the concept has been in development for 10 years, so players can expect a fully fleshed-out world despite its status as a spin-off. Gearbox recently released Assault on Dragon Keep as a standalone game calling it “A Wonderlands One-shot Adventure” clearly to introduce the Wonderlands world to players who had not previously experienced the Borderlands 2 DLC and to build up a potential player base for Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands.

By the look of things, Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands is sure to appease fans of the original DLC. Being heavily inspired by tabletop RPGs such as Dungeons and Dragons may be in stark contrast to the more futuristic and sci-fi settings of traditional Borderlands titles, but this shows a willingness to progress and explore new areas for the franchise from Gearbox and 2K. The game will also use a new combat mechanic that will utilize magic instead of grenades.

Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands will be released on March 25th, 2022 on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S,
