Tom Cruise definitely enjoys stunts, as evidenced by multiple Mission: Impossible films as well as classics such as Top Gun. Throughout the pandemic, the action actor has been filming for Mission: Impossible 7, a big-budget project that hasn’t finished production yet. Meanwhile, he’s filming Mission: Impossible 8, which has yet to be given a title. The film, directed by Christopher McQuarrie, has been delayed multiple times because of the COVID-19 epidemic. But, as it turns out, none of these roadblocks, even the money, will dim the cast and crew’s enthusiasm for the projects. In fact, Tom Cruise’s M: I 8 is said to have the “most expensive stunt” in the action franchise.

Mission: Impossible 8 is now in production, and expenditures are already soaring. According to The Sun, Cruise is preparing a feat that will involve three biplanes and could be the most expensive stunt ever. “Tom Cruise doesn’t do things by halves, and the eighth Mission: Impossible film will be massive, just like the previous seven. The portal’s insider said that “no money has been spared for this production.”

“The action on the set is just getting started,” they added, “and Tom will be working on some of the franchise’s largest and most expensive stunts to date.” He rented three biplanes for stunts he was practising in the United Kingdom last year. Tom learned to fly the planes, and now he’ll put everything he’s learned to good use.”

The projects Mission: Impossible 7 and 8 are ambitious. While the former began production in Italy only to be delayed owing to the pandemic, the makers’ confidence in going through with the sequel proves that they are committed to the project.

So far, we’ve only seen trailers for Mission: Impossible 7, which was supposed to be out on September 30, 2022. The film’s seventh instalment will be released on July 14, 2023, while the eighth instalment will be released on June 28, 2024. Meanwhile, Cruise is rumoured to appear in Doctor Strange into the Multiverse of Madness and is expected to star in the highly anticipated Top Gun: Maverick.
