The service has grown enormously and as of February 2021, had 9 million streamers, with each streamer having 25 million viewers on average. While Twitch rarely goes down, some technical issues do affect users every once in a while.
That being said, Twitch creators are now reporting that they are facing trouble setting a category for their stream. While many say that the app is preventing them from setting any category at all, others are complaining that even if they tap a category, the field remains blank.
Moreover, it looks like the bug is preventing users from changing their stream title as well, which is really frustrating for those not having access to the desktop.
Twitch streamers say they are afraid being unable to set their preferred categories might affect their viewership. Creators say they tried reinstalling the app and clearing app data, but it makes no difference.
Thankfully, Twitch Support has shed some light on the matter and said that they are aware of the issue and are working on a fix. However, there is no ETA on when the fix will be implemented.
In the meantime, Twitch creators who are unable to set a category or edit their stream title can do so by using the website. Nonetheless, we will be keeping an eye out on the bug and update this article as and when required, so make sure you stay tuned.
