Twitter Blue was recently launched as a monthly subscription service. It brings additional features and possibilities that improve the user experience for subscribers.
Among the new features offered by Twitter Blue is the much-requested ‘Edit’ option for tweets. However, actually, the company just offers an ‘Undo’ button, whose operation is different.
How does work ‘Edit’ feature on Twitter Blue?
Basically, instead of being able to edit any tweet, Twitter Blue users will have a window of around 60 seconds before it is sent. So, they will be able to review and correct the post if there is any error.
This means that tweets already published cannot be edited. And this is where the problems start, since many users preferred to be able to edit each tweet in their timelines after published (1, 2, 3, 4).
Given the above, the initial reactions to the new service are not the best. After all, the option to edit tweets has been highly requested by users for years (1, 2, 3, 4, 5).
So, the fact that it is offered as a paid subscription feature makes many upset about it. Also, not really being a button to edit any tweet makes the situation even worse (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12).

Many users are confused about how it works
It should be noted that even Twitter’s promotional strategy does not seem to have been correct. In fact, that there are many users who think that Twitter Blue allows to edit published tweets.
First users’ suggestions to improve Twitter Blue
That being said, early adopters of Twitter Blue offer suggestions for improving the service. Among these is, of course, adding a real edit button to any posted tweet.
Meanwhile, if the company doesn’t intend to offer a real option for tweet editing, users suggest at least extending the wait window for the current ‘Undo’ button (limited to 60 seconds).
At the moment, it is not known if Twitter will pay attention to the feedback about the ‘Blue’ service. So, it only remains to wait and see how events unfold in the near future.

Update 1 (April 05)
03:59 pm (IST): Elon Musk, who just recently became the largest shareholder of Twitter, has posted a poll asking users if they want an edit button on the platform.
Moreover, the same poll was then retweeted by Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal. So, users can now choose whether they want the edit button or not.
Update 2 (April 06)
09:40 am (IST): Twitter has now officially announced that they are working on an edit feature. It will be available for testing through Twitter Blue Labs in the coming months.
Update 3 (April 18)
10:49 am (IST): It appears that the edit button feature of Twitter is already available for testing. Folks over at 9to5Google have revealed how this functionality will look in action. You can check it here.
