New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

Original story (published on February 13, 2020) follows:

A lot has been going on regarding the Honor Play EMUI 10 update – an update that should bring Android 10 OS to the device. For months now, contradicting statements have been made by both Huawei and its brainchild, Honor.

To date, no one knows the real truth behind the Honor Play EMUI 10 update developments. In early October 2019, an Honor India representative claimed the device was being evaluated for Android 10 update.

A couple of weeks later, the evaluation process was (supposedly) done and the Honor Play declared unfit to handle the new Android 10 due to hardware limitations. But not long after, Huawei Mobile UK claimed that the update was being worked on.

Ever since several contradicting statements have come out from various Huawei-linked quotas regarding the Honor Play’s update to Android 10. Heck, the uncertainties surrounding the update have even pushed owners of the device to sign a Change.org petition for the update to be released.

Last month, Honor India insisted that the Honor Play will continue receiving security updates and no OS upgrades. This is despite the device having received only one major OS upgrade and well-deserving of another upgrade.

With the increasingly frustrated voices growing in numbers, Huawei is seemingly looking for ways to perhaps calm them down as it probably evaluates the Honor Play EMUI 10 update status.
