The new year has begun with a tragic emergency. 12 people were killed in a rush at the Vaishno Devi temple in Jammu and Kashmir at about 2:45 pm. 13 people have been wounded. The conditiont of 3 of them is said to be crucial. All the wounded people have been hospitalised to Narayana Hospital in Katra.

DGP said – there was a conflict between the believers Jammu and Kashmir DGP Dilbag Singh announced that according to preliminary statements, there was a debate between the supporters over some problem. There was a brawl between them, which result to a rush. The people existing at the place told that sufficient safety arrangements were not in spot. A supporter told that a huge number of people had huddled. There was no path away.

Reimbursement by Government  Those who forfeited their spirits in the rush are from UP, Punjab, Haryana and Jammu and Kashmir. The pilgrimage begins again actually after the emergency. On the additional side, the central administration has declared an allowance of Rs 2 lakh each to the next of family of the dead and Rs 50,000 to the injured. At the similar moment, Jammu and Kashmir’s Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has declared openly a subsidy of Rs 10 lakh each to the family of the dead and Rs 2 lakh each to the injured.

An ex-gratia of Rs. 2 lakh each from PMNRF would be given to the next of kin of those who lost their lives due to the stampede at Mata Vaishno Devi Bhawan. The injured would be given Rs. 50,000: PM @narendramodi

PM Modi is surveying the predicament Prime Minister Narendra Modi has conveyed intense sadness over the emergency. He tweeted and told, ‘Extremely saddened by the death of people in the stampede at Mata Vaishno Devi Bhawan. Condolences to the bereaved families. I wish the injured a speedy recovery. The Prime Minister has spoken to Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, Union Minister Jitendra Singh, Union Minister Nityanand Rai regarding the accident and is monitoring the situation.’
