New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

Original story (published on March 24, 2022) follows:

Developed and published by Riot Games, Valorant is a 5v5 online multiplayer first-person shooting game that was released in June of 2020.

The title has borrowed several gameplay mechanics such as spray patterns and the buy menu from Counter-Strike. Players can choose from a set of agents, each of which have unique abilities.

But as is the case with most online multiplayer games, players do encounter some bugs and glitches such as the recently reported Cypher crash exploit that resulted in the character getting disabled and Alt-Tab desync or lag issue.

And now, Valorant players are saying (1,2,3,4) that they are unable to hear the spike defuse sound after the 4.05 update.

With attackers now unable to hear if and when the defenders are defusing the spike, many are frustrated since the bug gives them an unfair advantage over them.

Some say they thought it might be a problem on their end and tried reinstalling the Riot client and the game but it did not help. Here is what some Valorant players have to say about the missing spike defuse sound issue.

Fortunately, Valorant developers have acknowledged the issue where the spike defuse sound is inaudible along with a bug with Raze’s Blast Pack.

As always, we will be updating this space once the issue is resolved so make sure you stay tuned for more information.

Update 1 (March 24)

Valorant developers said that competitive queues will be disabled till the problem is resolved. It looks like the issue will be patched tomorrow.
