The previously mentioned VFX artist’s name is Aaron Sorensen, but they go by the name of @vfx_central on Instagram. They also have a YouTube channel where they have conversations about VFX in the film in addition to giving tutorials for different techniques that any aspiring filmmaker or anyone with aspirations in technology can learn from.
The Instagram post also has other Dragon Ball characters, including the father of Goku, Bardock. There was also a bald “T-Posing” character who viewers can see only from behind. Fans can assume that this character is either Tien or possibly Krillin. Hopefully, Sorenson is able to drop more characters that use the likeness of famous actors. Picturing Piccolo in a live-action format is something that can either fuel nightmares or be a very artistically unique reimagining of a popular character. Just ask fans who watched 2009’s Dragonball Evolution, a much-maligned film that starred Justin Chatwin as Goku and James Marsters as Lord Piccolo.
Sorenson also asks if he should make this happen as a CGI film, which is becoming more and more common as the technology improves and becomes more widely accepted. MightyRaccoon is a channel on YouTube that has a catalog of fan films ranging from Marvel, DC, anime, and even video game characters. Seeing these fan favorites duke it out or work together on film is the closest thing to bringing to life the imaginings of a child playing make-believe with their toys in the sandbox
Fans may see a new series released following the Dragon Ball movies, but as of now, the only active plans are to release films that will continue the story. No plans of continuing Dragon Ball Super have been announced but there also aren’t any plans to cancel it.
Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero is scheduled for release in 2022.
