The Actor-comedian who is known for his comedy specials on Netflix, Vir Das was recently at a podcast session Good For You with American actress Whitney Cummings. On the show, he talked about the King of Bollywood Shah Rukh Khan and described him as “the biggest star in the world” and said, “Our version of the Oscars, I used to write jokes for that. He used to host it.”
He also explained how Brad Pitt walking down a street in Los Angeles would be possibility but Shah Rukh Khan stepping down in Mumbai would lead to a ‘stampede’.
Vir Das described the versatile actor by saying, “That’s the biggest star in the world, pretty much. Like in terms of everything. In terms of fan-base, in terms of reach, in terms of everything. Like every Sunday, he will have 10,000 people waiting outside his house.” Whitney Cummings even googled about Shah Rukh Khan and was impressed by him.
“Nobody romances a woman like Shah Rukh romances a woman – it’s something you’ll find people saying,” Vir added.
He talked about the inspirational journey of the bollywood fame Shah Rukh Khan from rags to riches who came to Mumbai with just one suitcase and then with his hardwork and dedication reached to the top.
Virdas further said that it is his romantic hero image that led to his popularity and made him the greatest lovable hero. Cummings also commented appreciating the actor by saying that it is very rare for a person to be liked by both men and women and the outstanding actor seems to have the quality.
Recently, Vir Das was in limelight because of getting nominated at the International Emmy Awards for the show Vir Das: For India – he lost to Call My Agent. He was also in the center of a controversy for his ‘Two Indias’ monologue.
