A Twitter user asked Vir Das if he has written Rahul Gandhi’s speech? The user tweets, “Hey #VirDas did you write @RahulGandhi’s speech? If you have kindly change your script, if you haven’t @RahulGandhi please change you speech writer he is watching too much stand up comedy #Parliament” . To which Vir Das replies, “No I didn’t. The idea of two nations and many versions have been around for a lot longer than the two of us. The only thing that stays the same, is your predictable reactions.”

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s speech in the Lok Sabha on February 2, 2022, focused on three crucial problems India has been grappling with at the current moment – rising unemployment, strategic failures to corner China and Pakistan, and an unprecedented attack on the country’s institutional framework. Talking about India Rahul Gandhi said, “There are now two Indias – one for the poor and one for the rich. The chasm between these two Indias is increasing continuously” He also raise question on the ruling government by asking, “Ask yourself why you are not able to get a guest on Republic Day. India today is completely isolated and surrounded. The Chinese have a very clear vision of what they want to do”
Speaking to news agency ANI, Mr Tharoor said, “We (Congress) are saying that the country has been weakened in both its domestic unity and strength and in its external national security. That, I think, is a very powerful and important message.”
Tamil Nadu, Chief Minister M K Stalinalso thanked the Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for his “rousing speech in Parliament”, and for voicing the “long-standing arguments” of Tamils.
