The New York Times reported on Tuesday that Walmart Inc. had spoken with media firms about incorporating streaming entertainment in its membership programme. The New York Times’ sources said that the discussions took place.
With its tens of thousands of locations and millions of weekly visitors, Walmart has long been a significant hub for the entertainment industry. The firm’s headquarters in Bentonville, Arkansas, became a destination for studio heads, singers, and businesspeople eager to court the company because of the retailer’s ability to sell music, movies, and items.
The current benefits of Walmart+ membership, which costs $12.95 a month, include free delivery on orders, fuel discounts, and a complimentary six-month subscription to Spotify’s premium music service.
