New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

Original story (published on March 28, 2022) follows:

Developed by Ubisoft Montreal, Watch Dogs is an open-world action game that was released in 2014. Set in a fictional city based on Chicago, it is available on PlayStation, Xbox, Wii U, and Windows.

The story follows in the footsteps of a hacker named Aiden Pearce who is looking for vengeance after his niece is killed. It features a single player as well as a multiplayer game mode.

While the title game was praised by players and critiques for its storyline and gameplay, many were disappointed because of graphical downgrades and the game having several bugs and issues.

That being said, many Watch Dogs players are reporting (1,2,3,4,5) that they are getting an Avg. wait time: Unknown error when trying to connect online or play multiplayer.

It looks like the issue is preventing players from enjoying the game with their friends or completing certain achievements. Reports suggest that the error message is shown for a couple of minutes before the matchmaking is timed out.

Some said they tried generic solutions such as verifying game files and checking their internet connection but nothing seems to help. Below are some reports from Watch Dogs players who are getting the Avg. wait time unknown error message.

Thankfully, Ubisoft has commented on the matter and said that they are aware of the issue where Watch Dogs players are getting the Avg. wait time: Unknown error when trying to join a multiplayer game.

However, they did not share any ETA on when the problem will be resolved. As always, we will be keeping an eye out on the matter and update this space as and when required so make sure you stay tuned.
