A new teaser for the upcoming Halo television series was released ahead of the full trailer releasing tomorrow at the Video Game Award show. Halo is a first-person shooter action-adventure sci-fi video game franchise that started in 2001 and has spawned multiple sequels and spin-offs.

With the recent release of Halo Infinite, fans have been coming back to the franchise in droves and the game is cementing its place as one of the best competitive shooters on the market. Halo Infinite brought back a lot of memories and dropping the multiplayer early as a surprise for fans on the anniversary of the game was a moment in history. The game broke the internet by trending on Twitter and having tons of content on social media being released about it.

Now, the teaser trailer for the upcoming Halo TV series offers a glimpse into the world that fans can expect when it releases in 2022. In the tease, fans can see the Spartans, vehicles, and guns, so expect a lot of combat just like one would see in the actual game. All of the equipment and technology look accurate to the video game’s versions and are all sure to please diehard fans of the games. As far as plot details go, it’s unclear what fans should expect, but it’s clear that the main Halo characters Master Chief and Cortana are both in it. People expect that the show will also explore the origin of the Spartan program and may detail more of Master Chief’s backstory, which many fans would love to see. The full trailer will debut tomorrow at the Video Game Awards show.

Now that fans are back on board for the Halo franchise, Paramount Plus and Microsoft picked the right time to start teasing the upcoming show. The success of other video game adaptations has proven that these can work if given the right writer, talent, and budget. Netflix’s The Witcher, Castlevania, Detective Pikachu, and Sonic The Hedgehog (for some) are all examples of video game adaptations that exceeded expectations.

Hopefully, the upcoming Halo show is able to deliver on the story and scope to deliver fans a solid video game adaptation that many people can enjoy. This shows success may influence the amount of money these video game companies start allocating towards making live-action adaptations of their properties. Right now, video game movies and shows are being taken more seriously, with an Uncharted movie starring Tom Holland and Mark Wahlberg being one example.

Halo will be available in 2022 to be streamed on Paramount Plus.
