“Wandered to LA,” a collaboration with Justin Bieber, has been announced as the third song from Juice WRLD’s upcoming posthumous album Fighting Demons.
On the late rapper’s social media sites, a trailer for the song was published, detailing his and Bieber’s struggles with substance addiction, depression, anxiety, and other issues. The single will be published on December 3rd, and the album will be released on December 10th.
At the start of the trailer, a quotation from Juice WRLD states, “You have power over depression.” The rapper speaks about the stigma that still surrounds discussions about mental health and wellness in the roughly two-minute clip. Bieber expresses his own thoughts on the non-physical challenges that people may encounter in their own lives.
In the song, Juice WRLD sings, “I wandered to LA hoping to explore / Little did I know, I’d find a little more / Love at my hotel room door.” The clip is accompanied by footage of the rapper performing in front of sold-out crowds around the world. Close family, friends, and collaborators are also present, with a couple of them expressing their plans to go to treatment shortly before his death.
Ms. Carmela Wallace, the rapper’s mother, said, “There was nothing Jarad ‘Juice WRLD’ Higgins enjoyed more than releasing new songs to his millions of admirers across the world.”
“He left behind an incredible body of work, ensuring that his admirers will have fresh tunes to listen to for years to come.” Jarad was always brutally honest about his hardships, and his musical genius allowed him to eloquently express what was on his heart and mind.”
The release of “Wanderered to LA” falls on Juice WRLD’s birthday, which would have been his 23rd. The rapper, born Jarad Anthony Higgins, died in December 2019 from a heroin overdose.
Fighting Demons continues to recount the narrative of Juice WRLD’s early years as a musician. On December 16, the documentary Juice WRLD: Into the Abyss will air, providing an “intimate” look at the late rapper.
“He never gave up, and his friends and family never stopped supporting him,” Wallace continued. “We encourage all of you who are battling addiction or mental illness to never give up.” We continue to provide free assistance to you through LiveFree999.org, which was established in his honor.”
